Choose the tofu branch deliberately
Chen Mapo Tofu’s Qinghua Road branch is documented at 10 Qinghua Road, units 10–12. Its classic mapo-tofu listing includes ground beef, so the presence of tofu does not make it a vegetarian order. Treat it as a seated meal with rice, then ask whether a milder preparation is possible. It is a separate western-city meal block, not an automatic extra after central snacks.
A noodle bowl can be a complete meal
Lao Chengdu San Yang Mian is listed at 46 Guojielou Street, units six and eight. Ask whether your chosen noodles are served in soup or tossed and what the topping contains. A single bowl is a useful solo format. Do not enlarge the order simply because an online photograph shows several sides.
Central wontons and a later sweet stop
Long Chao Shou’s cited central-store address is 63 Chengshou Street. Lai Tangyuan’s map listing gives 23 Zongfu Road, unit two. Use wontons as the meal and, after a break and a street walk, consider a small tangyuan portion. Filled sweets can contain sesame, peanuts or animal ingredients: ask about the filling instead of judging by appearance.
Make spice a question, not a competition
Ask about the available preparation and the portion before paying. Less chilli is a request, not a guarantee that every other spice or ingredient is removed. Leave a differently flavoured meal or rest block later in the day. These are four documented businesses and our meal-pairing suggestions, not a universal best-of list.
