Day 1: begin at the double museum
Make the Yangzhou Museum and China Block Printing Museum your first substantial visit. The official introduction describes a shared venue with exhibitions on the city and printing. The museum charter lists 468 Wenchang West Road; save 文昌西路468号 with the venue name and recheck the current arrival arrangements. Ask which printing galleries are open before planning around them. A historic craft exhibition does not guarantee a live demonstration or a visitor workshop.
Day 2: a garden as a reading exercise
Use Geyuan as a contrasting day rather than forcing the whole trip to consist of printing stops. Confirm current admission and access. Choose a public place to sit and write a description of one view, paying attention to how the path framed it. A garden visit and a printing visit can share an interest in sequence, rhythm and framed attention without claiming that they have the same history. Keep your drawing session short if the space is crowded.
Day 3: the old street and an arranged craft encounter
Visit Dongguan Street with a shopping question rather than an obligation to buy. If a print or book is offered as handmade, ask which parts were made by hand and who made them. An arranged workshop needs confirmation of the language, process, duration and finished object you will receive. Do not assume that a commercial printing workshop or publisher accepts casual visitors. If no appointment is available, revisit the museum with a more specific set of questions.
Why this is not a generic Jiangnan day trip
The printing museum gives the trip a subject, and the remaining time gives it room. Use Yangzhou as the base instead of adding a second city every day. The western museum location and the old-city outings require separate journey planning. Our Suzhou PDF can help with a broader Jiangnan journey but does not substitute for Yangzhou museum arrangements. The added value here is a book-focused structure and precise Chinese venue names, not a claim of exclusive access.
