Ask whether it is a tasting or a sales appointment

A paid educational tasting and a free shop tasting can be enjoyable, but their expectations differ. Before sitting down, ask what is included, the total charge and whether buying tea is optional. Confirm the length, language and number of teas. Avoid following an unspecified invitation where the venue and price are unclear. A clear agreement lets you pay for time and explanation without feeling obliged to make a large purchase at the end.

For a garden visit, check the season and access

A growing region is not a year-round guarantee of leaf picking or processing. Ask which activity is possible during your dates and whether visitors are allowed in the production area. A field walk, a processing demonstration and a workshop should be listed separately. In the Hangzhou region, use our city article as a gateway but verify the specific tea appointment independently. Do not treat a seasonal promotional photograph as a current activity calendar.

Take a small amount of useful information home

If you buy, keep the product name, weight, harvest or production information supplied and storage advice. Compare the price per weight rather than the size of a box. A small purchase can be enough for a first experiment at home. Tea should be sold as a food or beverage, not through unsupported medical claims.
